Donald J. Hogeland Sr. died July 10 at Springhouse Estates in Lower Gwynedd PA surrounded by his loving family. Prior to moving to Springhouse in 2014, he resided in Plymouth Meeting for over 50 years. Don was predeceased in April 2015 by the love of his life, his wife of 64 years Nancy Shackleford Hogeland. Born in Huntingdon Valley, he was the son of the late Justus M. Hogeland, Sr and Jessie Stalford Hogeland.
Don was 1968 graduate of LaSalle College and worked as a purchasing manager at Leeds and Northrop for 35 years. He proudly served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953.
As a long time member of Grace Baptist Church, Don served as deacon, trustee and treasurer. He also served as treasurer of the PA division of the Racetrack Chaplaincy of America.
Don was an avid gardener and a man who could build and fix anything. He enjoyed traveling with friends and family, socializing with the "Rowdies," doing puzzles with his grandchildren, and spending time with his family.
Don is survived by his children Susan Drummond (William), Donald Hogeland, Jr (Kathy Boullin), Laurie Kleman (Robert) and Linda Reisor (Ronald). He is also survived by grandchildren Kelly Alerson Avni (Ben), Jeb Alderson, Scott Reisor, Megan Boullin, Jessica Kleman, Kristen Reisor, Jenna Kleman, and Kevin Hogeland. He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Nancy, he was preceded in death by his brother Justus M Hogeland Jr and his sister Marie Ann Pletcher.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at Grace Baptist Church (437 W. Skippack Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422) for the 11 a.m. celebration of Don's life. Interment to follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, PA.
