Obituary for Mary L. Loy (Ciocco)

Mary L. Loy (Ciocco)
Mary, 95 years young, passed away October 7, 2017. She was born on Delhi Street in South Philadelphia to the late Michael and Grace Ciocco. She had a tremendous love of family and a strong religious faith. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law Thomas, Joseph (Elizabeth), and Pasquale (Josephine) Ciocco. It is comforting to our family to know that they are once again reunited in heaven. Mary enjoyed a successful career at the Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot for nearly 25 years and then Holy Redeemer Hospital in Abington for 10 years. In 1964 during a vacation in Florida she met a smart, handsome, and kind gentleman, Richard Loy. In 1965 they married and embarked on a wonderful journey living in Toledo, Ohio, Glenside, PA, and Laurel Springs, NJ until his death in 2006. She was never quite the same after his passing. She was also predeceased by her oldest niece and her husband, Jim and Vicki Goudy of Cambridge, OH.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Loretta (Joseph) Duckworth, Catherine Ciocco, Thomas (Rosemary) Ciocco, Michael (Jean) Ciocco, and Mary Grace (William) Dolphin, as well as nieces and nephews in the Loy family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers at Sunrise of Westtown in West Chester, PA and the staff at Med-Trans, Inc.

Friends and family are invited to her viewing on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 10:00 am, St. Luke’s Church, 2316 Fairhill Avenue, Glenside, Pa. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am. Internment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Malvern Preparatory School, 418 S. Warren Avenue, Malvern, PA 19355.
